Bershka in SL

Thursday, 20 December 2007

I can't believe how lost in space I am. I have been in SL for like 10 months (actually like half of that since I did a huge break from SL because of my hectic RL), and I just found out that one of my favorite RL brands has a sim in SL. My closet is cramped with clothes from Bershka since this store is like a blessing for my wallet. Cheap, but extremely, totally amazing clothes. The same goes for their virtual store. I just couldn't believe how extremely cheap they are. All the clothes are around L$30, which makes them perfect for newbies and tight budgeted fashionistas. But to my big surprise, the whole sim was creepily empty. Totally deserted. I was the only one there, FFS!!! Sooo unlike the RL store, in which you have to wait for half an hour at the cash register (at least here in Thessaloniki, GR). Two snapshots to present the eerie emptiness:

At least there was no lag. Photos of this shopping spree coming up in the next post.

Groups management

Friday, 14 December 2007

We all know that we can join only 25 groups, which according to me, and probably to most second lifers, is a problem. There are so many good designers, and 25 groups is just not enough to stay up to date with their latest releases. The weird thing is that I haven't come across somebody to have discussed about this issue. It wasn't a long time ago when I just didn't know which groups to join and which ones to leave. Thats why I decided to share my tips on how I managed to stay in control of the groups I'm joined in.

1. Join the Fashion Consolidated group. Most designers post notices in this group.

2. Join the Savoir Hair group. Its just like Fashion Consolidated, but only for hair.

3. If you are at a bar, club, etc., and you get invited to join the group (happens mostly at parties), do join if you like, or if you do not wish to seem rude, but leave it immediately after you leave the place. There is no point of joining groups like that, unless you plan to go to other events they organize.

4. Some designers invite you to join their group after you have purchased something in their shop. If what you have purchased is the only thing you like from the designer, just click on decline without thinking twice.

5. Join the Fashion Emergency group, but only if you don't mind a lot of group chat. The group was created for its members to help each other with whatever fashion related issue they have. Don't expect notices in this group, but instead, do expect a lot of info from the group members concerning new releases, hottest designers and items, sales, freebies and getting advice on anything fashion related.

6. See which are your favorite designers, and then check if they have blogs. Most of them do. Subscribing to their RSS feed is a great substitute for joining their groups, since whatever notices they send, they also post them in their blogs. Also, most of the SL blogs are syndicated into Fashion World of SL and World of SL. So subscribing to these two feeds is all you need to stay informed.

7. In case you are a freebie hunter, do leave at least one extra space in case you find out of a group members only freebies.

Well, this is how I managed to stay on top of the groups I'm joined in. I even have 2 spaces left to fill in. So I hope this helps you too.

New xmas outfit from Neko Case

Thursday, 13 December 2007

Yesterday I got this x-mas outfit from Neko Case which goes well with my new pistolita hair (blabbed about in New releases from Deviant Kitties). For L$150 you get a t-shirt, skirt, socks with garters, scarf, armbands and hair bows (not in the pic). The skirt has a bow in the back, which together with the belt buckle glow in the dark :p

Shopping spree

Monday, 10 December 2007

<3 Cupcakes! has a sale on, so I decided to check it out. I ended up buying more things than I expected :P. So here are some pics of the dresses that I got. I'll upload the other ones later. The sale will be till 27th. All of the items are L$100 and less. I'll probably head over there again before the sale is over, since the dresses are absolutely adorable. There are also some good skins there, so I'll probably get some as well. And finally <3 Cupcakes! has an update group. Well it was about time !!! :P

Freebies!!!!!

Saturday, 8 December 2007

Three freebies today. One is a decent looking necklace from Calla (join Calla Update Group and look through the notices to get it). Another one is an excellent, as always, MM Skin (join MM SKINS group) and the third one is an utterly disappointing hobo looking hair from Gurl 6 (need to join The AvaStar Readers group to get the hair which is placed in front of Gurl 6 shop). I mean, WTH?!? There is not a single hairstyle from Gurl 6 that I do not like and my inventory is cluttered with her hair, so this came as a BIG surprise to me. The hair would have been nice if the hat wasn't so trashy. But I guess it is ok if you combined it with some ragged clothes and go to a costume party dressed as a bum :D. At least its a freebie, and we are all grateful for them

New releases from Deviant Kitties

Earlier today Deviant Kitties released 3 new totally adorable X-Mas items. One of them is Holiday Rufus, which is a freebie, and the other two are a holiday skirt (L$75), and black and white pistolita hair (L$125 - available in normal colors as well). The hair has a candy canes add-on, so you can choose to wear the hair with or without it, if you're not in the Christmas mood. You could mix-n-match it with other hair styles as well.
Make sure you visit their blog and join the Deviant Kitties Update Group to get notices about their new releases.
